My Bright Idea was originally designed as an online collaborative learning platform to support quality improvement (QI) and innovation across healthcare organisations in Nottinghamshire.

Whist other QI platforms exist, this site was designed to provide a more ‘local’ focus to underpin QI training,  by providing access and signposting to tried and tested improvement tools and methodologies in a format accessible to both those starting out on their improvement journey, through to ‘well travelled’ QI Practitioners.

The intention would be to shape local QI training to compliment the structure of this site, in order to provide an intuitive and familiar experience to staff.

My Bright Idea was founded by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in December 2016 at a hackathon session.
